Crochet Color Block Baby Blanket or Throw – Project Photos

Well, it’s finished!

After much rushed crocheting to work out pattern details and to complete a sample blanket, I am pleased to report that this was an easy and enjoyable project that is adorable for your baby or to give as a gift. This project can also be easily modified to make a full size throw in a wide range of color options to suit your decor. Click on my “Projects” page to see photos.

Although I usually favor natural fiber yarns like wool, acrylics (or acrylic blends) are a good choice for blankets for durability and easy care. With careful steam blocking, acrylic yarns soften considerably and make great blankets and other home dec projects. Both Vanna’s Choice and Loops & Threads Impeccable are good options since they are machine washable and dryable. (Plus, you can mix & match them on the same project for a huge selection of colors!) However, feel free to choose any worsted weight (#4) yarn that catches your eye.

Please contact me if you have any questions about this project, or for more information if you would like to make a larger throw size.

Class is scheduled for Saturday, March 29th from 1:00-3:00pm. Sign up now in-store or online at Michaels.com to get started!
